Overview:

Let’s keep the Honma T//WORLD XP-1 journey rolling by sliding down the bag to the 3 wood. Right off the bat, you’ll notice it’s got a lot in common with its driver sibling—same vibe, same tech DNA. This club’s built with the high-handicap crowd in mind, offering a friendly assist to golfers who could use a little extra love from their gear.

The Tech:

The 3 wood borrows heavily from the driver’s playbook. You’ve got an ET-40 carbon crown up top and a double-slot sole down below, paired with 44 grams of smartly placed weight along the base—nudged slightly toward the heel for a subtle draw bias. No adjustable hosel here, keeping things straightforward.

It comes stock with a unique 43-gram Vizard shaft, available in Regular, Stiff-Regular, and Stiff flexes—all sticking to that 43-gram weight. The 3 wood sits at 15° of loft, with 5 wood (18°) and 7 wood (21°) options also in the lineup for those who want to mix and match.

The Look:

Visually, the 3 wood takes after the driver in all the right ways. It’s sleek and understated, rocking a metallic black finish with eye-catching metal flake accents that pop in the sunlight. There’s no alignment mark on top, but the white-painted grooves on the face step in to help you line things up. Flip it over, and the sole’s a stunner—polished black with a mirror-like shine and intricate detailing that screams Honma’s craftsmanship. The headcover ties it all together, sporting a sharp black-and-red design with light grey stitching that nods to the club’s make and model.

The Test:

This take is based on my own XP-1 3 wood, fitted with the 43-gram stiff shaft. Off the deck, it delivers a classic 3-wood sound—slightly higher-pitched but far from obnoxious. When you catch it flush, the feel is pure butter; stray toward the heel or toe, and you’ll get some honest feedback through your hands. With my swing speed, this thing launches a low, piercing bullet off the turf—that’s the flight we tracked for this review. We skipped tee shots for the data collection, so keep that in mind. Performance numbers come courtesy of TopTracer, captured in less-than-perfect conditions (imagine a pesky left-side headwind). These figures—listed below—are a solid starting point, but they’re not set in stone. I’ve left my personal yardages out, so feel free to plug in your own swing stats for a custom read.

The Conclusion:

The Honma T//WORLD XP-1 3 wood is a solid pick for anyone looking to add a reliable, easy-to-hit fairway wood to their bag. It’s got the looks, the tech, and the feel to boost confidence for high-handicappers, while still delivering a satisfying punch for those who catch it just right. The draw bias and low-launch profile make it a forgiving ally off the deck, and the premium design keeps it feeling like a treat every time you pull it out. If you’re after a 3 wood that blends performance with a touch of class—and don’t mind skipping the adjustability—this one’s worth a swing.
